So, [livejournal.com profile] mcgarrygirl78 and I have been discussing the idea of having a smallish support group for people doing the [livejournal.com profile] au_bigbang. Obviously, there's the official support comm and that's great, but I know for me personally there are times when I'm not comfortable posting to a large comm if I'm having problems writing or just looking for some general prodding.

I was thinking maybe something along the lines of a weekly check-in - I know I'm going to need to be kept on track since my brain has apparently determined that I need to write something with an actual plot - and a network of people to ask for advice on stuff? Maybe even a mini support comm?

Any takers? Anyone on the f-list or anyone on the f-list's f-list (etc etc) who's doing/thinking of doing the [livejournal.com profile] au_bigbang and who thinks they might want to get involved in something like this, drop a line here. And pimp this post out and we'll see what kind of interest we can get.

You know I'm in and I will do a link to this in my evening post because there are at least 2 other people on my f-list who are involved.

Awesomeness! I can't wait to get started on this - need to get some more done on my [livejournal.com profile] apocabigbang fic first though, and probably watch 'Demonology' five or six times.

As much as I love Emily Prentiss, and you know I do, I am not that big a fan of Demonology. The first time I loved it, subsequent watches pointed out what I saw to be glaring flaws. It was like watching an Alexander payne film. I just find Ed Bernero et. al really fall short on the character of Emily Prentiss.

What is your story going to be about?

I didn't love it either, but that's where my fic starts. In short (I say 'in short' as if I have the whole thing plotted out...which I really, really don't), the reason Matthew Benton and the other were killed was because they had magical powers (of some as yet unspecified kind), and Emily does too. That's pretty much all I have so far, though I'm hoping an epic battle between good and evil will want to be written ;)

I have a kinda sorta epic battle between good and evil in my story too. And Matthew Benton is mentioned in it but never seen. He is a spirit, the supernatural world's version of angels. But they're badass angels cuz they got into battle on the side of the light and Reapers are their enemies because they are always stealing souls that dont belong to them.

Dude, I think our stories are going to rock!

That sounds wicked! All your crafting and drafting has clearly paid off! You sound so organised.

I'm vaguely terrified by needing to write something with an actual plot though. But I have confidence: we are going to kick this big bang's ass. And I'm even writing apocafic right now in the hopes that I can watch 'Demonology' tomorrow and get started with this.

What do you mean an actual plot? Dont all stories have plots?

Yeah, that draft and craft was really helpful. I'm going to start writing the actual fic next weekend because I have three days off.

Well, my 'plots' can usually be described as a few thousand words of introspection cunningly disguised as fic. Action of any kind + me = not good.

And yay for getting started soon! I should really do that...

I...keep considering doing the [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and continuing my story from [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com].

Okay, this? Would be so completely awesome. If support is what you need to sign up, I am so here. I adored you [livejournal.com profile] thelittlebang fic and it had the most eeeeevil cliffhanger ever so I'm all in favour of things where that gets resolved.

Maybe? It depends on if they're going to be flexible on where we post our fic, because I want to post it to my journal, not to their community. If they're flexible on it, I'll sign up for sure.

I had a look in their FAQs and it's actually not all that clear - they say that you make a post in the community on your posting date but I don't know if that means the actual fic or just a link (am very much hoping it's just a link).

I asked, and they said they were going to revisit the issue. Which is why I'm still waffling.

Ah, waffling is not helpful. Really hope they go with just linking to the comm - would absolutely love you to have a reason to write this fic!!

I'm definitely going to do [livejournal.com profile] au_bigbang but I haven't signed up just yet because I was having a crisis of ideas, in that I have two-ish and not sure which one to go with.

I'd be in on the support group :) I think asking for help is definitely better with friends or friends of friends.

I'm still working away at [livejournal.com profile] apocabigbang as well...which is going slightly better the last week than at any other point so far.

AU really appeals though because I have never written it before, but I have so many ideas and feel really inspired for it.

Yay! I had a crisis of ideas too - so many options! - but am really looking forward to getting started now I'm settled on something. And yay for being in on the support group - I know I'm gonna need all the help I can get!

Awesome! Mine is...getting there. Slowly. Am almost at four thousand words and at least now have a vague idea of where I'm going *headdesk*

In hopes of facilitating more Emily Prentiss fic, I volunteer myself for any beta-ing/encouraging needs (wouldn't be caught dead signing up to write multiple thousands of words, but will help others do so)!
