It was Emily's turn to pause this time, weighing up the answer she wanted to give (Yes, of course, I'd love to) and the possible implications of that, and the distinct idea that she was thinking much too hard about a simple dinner invitation.
This amuses me, because it's just so...true. it's so awkwardly adorable and sweet.
With uncharacteristic nervousness, Kate had left for the restaurant a good fifteen minutes before she really needed to and then, again due to the nerves, had walked considerably faster than usual and consequently ended up at the restaurant almost half an hour early
This sets an entire scene absolutely brilliantly with a wicked use of repetition.
"And when you do, it's always vague, always 'this person' and 'they.'"
so true this.
"I went to put on my normal watch this morning and the battery had died. This was...uh...a graduation present from my parents. I don't wear it very often..."
I love CJ, I love this. it's good.
I'd convinced myself there was no way you would feel the same."
awkward dorky relationship stuff wins at life.
you know, you're sitting there talking about sports or the weather and then suddenly it's 'Oh, and by the way guys, I'm gay'?
also so damn true. and it sounds very Prentissy. I really enjoyed it.
I definitely loved CJ each time she showed up, the realism of both characters and how awkwardly they fell into an incredibly believable and compelling relationship. Very very well done. Totally worth my nine chapters of political theory.
