Dear Yule Goat

Firstly, thank you for offering to write in whichever fandom it is we've been matched on. Please know that whatever you write, I will love because it's fic in one of these fandoms, about the characters I want to read about.

General things: I'm all about the girls (shocking that, I know, given the characters I've requested). Especially them with their own agency, doing their own stuff. Other things I love are AU fic (except vampire-based ones), dorky romance stuff, character-focussed fic, and banter. Major squicks are consent issues of any kind, graphic kink-fic, and character bashing. And in general, I'm not so much a fan of the boyslash. I don't mind background pairings but would prefer nothing central to the story.

So, for a little more about the specific fandoms, read on. Or don't - I'll be psyched to read whatever I get so if you have your own ideas, go with those.



Corner Gas: Karen Pelly, Lacey Burrows - An old police academy friend of Karen's turns up in Dog River and he/she knows things Karen doesn't want other people to know? A hilarious misunderstanding involving the Ruby, Karen, and Lacey? Karen responds to a surprising call to the police station? Crazy space cowboy AU? Anything, really, anything, and femslashy subtext/maintext/sexy tiems would be extra amazing.
I love the quirky humour of Corner Gas and I love Karen and Lacey especially. Personally, I see Karen as exceedingly gay so if there could be some femslashy stuff going on, I would love that, but gen would be equally cool.

FlashForward: Janis Hawk - Janis before she joins the FBI? The first girl who broke Janis' heart? Janis kicking ass and taking names? I pretty much watch the show for Janis so whatever she's doing, I can get behind.
Janis is awesome. My interest in the other characters is fairly limited but if it's some kind of case type fic, I'm good with gen involvement of other characters. If LGBT issues appeal to you as something to write about, I'd love that in any context. But please, please don't de-gay Janis - she's canonically a lesbian and that's important to me.

Legend Of The Seeker: Kahlan Amnell - Honestly, I will read anything that has Kahlan being her amazing, kick ass self, especially if it involves her saving Richard from himself/Darken Rahl/the bad guy of the week. Richard/Kahlan UST/RST if you like writing it, but gen is great if you don't.
I enjoy LotS best when Kahlan's centre stage. Basically, I just love it when she's the one to save the day. Also, angsting about her Confessor powers is lovely too.

Rush: Shannon Henry, Stella Dagostino - Shannon meets Stella's new girlfriend? Shannon and Stella bond over how sometimes their teammates can be really very stupid? Given how little interaction the two of them have, just them talking to each other would be lovely. Gen or femslash, but please, no Stella/Michael.
I'm not sure I even see them particularly as friends, but just to have them actually talking about something (not necessarily work-related) would be amazing. If said discussion could be focussed on a topic other than a guy/guys, that would be amazing. And if Shannon's interested in Stella's bisexuality - not in an experimental kind of way but in a 'how did you realise'/'does it make things hard for you'/general awkward questions asked of LGBT people by others (Shannon strikes me as the type to ask awkward questions), that would be great too.

So thank you for signing up for whichever of these fandoms you've signed up for, and I can't wait to read what you come up with. Honestly, I'll be happy with whatever you write so if none of these ideas speak to you, don't worry and just go with whatever works for you. And thank you again!

I was just going through looking at requests (it's kind of sad how many Dear Santa tabs I have open) and I saw your femslashy Rush request and I damn near squeed. I really hope someone writes that. Also, someone who knows what Rush is! *excitement*

I know what you mean - I've been stalking the letters page and going 'Ooooh' a lot. And yay - I hope someone writes it too! I've also been stalking the requested fandoms page and Rush currently has three requests and three offers (one of each of those is me) so maybe I'll get lucky. And extra yay for general Rush fandom!! I mean, is there even a fandom for the show? It's brilliant and clearly deserves a very awesome one but I ventured into the Pit once, was bombarded with fairly awful Grace/Josh fic and gave up.

Oh, gods. I know what you mean about the Pit. I think I went there once on a whim when I was looking for femslash in another fandom and cried about the hopelessness in both fandoms. Unfortunately, LJ has failed me as far as this fandom is concerned.

What gets me about the show is that Stella is supposed to be this canon bi character but we've only seen evidence of that in a gf she was breaking up with in the first episode. That just...not my definition of bi. Especially when the show pushes her toward a moron like Michael.

I only recently saw Stella/Shannon as a possibility and that was barely there subtext from significant looks in the locker room. Anyway, I'm just really excited to see someone else loving Rush. *crosses fingers that someone writes this prompt*

That makes me sad. I was hoping there was some giant LJ community that I'd just missed completely.

Okay, what episode have you seen up to? Because things get more interesting with Stella, although I still have my issues with what happens, but it's damn sight better than nothing. And god yeah, Michael is so not my favourite person. I would like him more if they weren't pushing this Michael/Stella business I think.

I think Stella/Shannon could be really interesting, but I'm well aware that I'm partly just looking at the available femslash options and drawing what limited conclusions I can. Honestly, I'd just like to see them interact a bit more - that would be lovely!!

I actually just discovered that I'm way behind on episodes. The comm I was getting them from dried up and now I'm having to turn toward alternative means of acquiring them. But I should have them fairly soon. I've watched through 206 (binge drinking where Kerry gets the tattoo) and plan to watch the rest probably this weekend. Or at least get a good flying start on them.

That just happened to me too! And because of the way the episodes are numbered on Wikipedia (and the fact that I wasn't paying enough attention), I just realised it the other day. I'm acquiring them also though and am up to...2.12 and I'd forgotten how much I love the show!
